It’s time to talk money.

Jeff Williams is a local photographer and owner of J.S. Photography. Jeff will be visiting us on May 22 to discuss ways we can financially succeed as artists. Please complete each task below before the meeting and bring your work with you so we can focus the discussion on your interests. We’ll be talking about business, pricing, and advertising as it relates to each person, and touching on survival ideas that may have been taboo back in art school.

• Write one concise paragraph about what you want for your art/ life.
• Make a spread sheet of every single expense you currently have (art and living expenses). Then add the expenses you need to achieve your goal.
• Make a spread sheet that shows your current income (every thing that generates income). Then expand it to estimate what you will make for the next 12 months.

We will be taking a tour of Circle Square Studio and speaking with owner/operator Alexis Dold about his artistic ideologies, processes, and products. The format will be somewhat informal, as per usual, with an  open conversation and Q and A session. Bring a list of appropriate questions to the meeting if you feel so inclined.
